HVAC Engineer

Intero Services is seeking a qualified and experienced HVAC Engineer to join its Facilities Services Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, optimization, and performance monitoring of HVAC systems across client facilities, ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, pumps, and associated controls.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and lifecycle.
• Diagnose and resolve HVAC system faults, breakdowns, and performance issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor HVAC system performance and recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documents related to HVAC installations, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
• Conduct inspections and condition assessments of HVAC equipment and prepare technical reports with recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental guidelines.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Support the planning and execution of HVAC-related projects, including equipment replacement, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor contractor performance and verify work quality in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset registers, service reports, and documentation.
• Assist in budget preparation, cost estimation, and resource planning for HVAC maintenance and projects.
• Investigate recurring system issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support emergency response activities related to critical HVAC and building systems.
• Stay updated on emerging HVAC technologies, sustainability practices, and energy management initiatives.

Qualifications \& Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC engineering, facilities management, building maintenance, or MEP operations.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, DX systems, ventilation systems, BMS controls, and energy management practices.
• Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, or mixed-use facilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.
• Professional certifications related to HVAC, energy management, or facilities management will be an advantage.
