Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The HR Generalist include full-cycle recruiting, onboarding and offboarding employees, handling employee relations and conflict resolution, ensuring policy compliance, and handling HR administrative tasks

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Work with hiring managers and schedule pre-recruiting meetings to be sure all the needs and wants are understood before searching.
  • Source, contact, and research potential passive candidates that might meet the requirements.
  • Schedule phone and in person interviews, gather follow-up information from hiring managers for follow-up to candidates.
  • Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills.
  • Place ads on various social media outlets, websites, etc.
  • When necessary, arrange travel for candidates out of the area to interview, tour, etc.
  • Manage the student/co-op program for all areas, including attendance at job fairs, campus career days, etc.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Confirms accuracy and integrity of all data entered in HRIS and databases.
  • Monitors HRIS system/dashboards to make sure job functions, job descriptions and req ID’s are completed
  • Follows up with manager on changes and missing information.
  • Support all HRIS system needs
  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process
  • Arranges drug and background check and receives results.
  • Updating new hire PAF as new hire moves through hiring criteria steps.
  • Sends communication email to new hires with onboarding agenda, dress code, parking information and day 1 schedule.
  • Perform new employee orientation
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, employment contract and HR letters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Employment laws, Industrial Relations Act and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
  • Assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions including preparing warning letters.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
  • Monitors and ensure termination dashboard assure all steps are completed for compliance.
  • Adheres to all Samtec Quality Principles and actions

Required Experience:

  • 3 years in related / similar position
  • Must have great communication skills as this person will be interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Must have great organizational & Time Management skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or equivalent/ related technical or equivalent experience.
