The Homecare Assistant Nurse is responsible for assisting Registered Nurses and physicians in providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes. The role supports patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), basic nursing care, rehabilitation support, and health monitoring while ensuring compliance with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Assist patients with ambulation and safe transfers using appropriate equipment.
Monitor and report changes in the patient's physical or mental condition to the supervising nurse.
Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (where trained and authorized).
Assist with personal hygiene and skin care to prevent pressure injuries.
Support patients with rehabilitation exercises as instructed by the healthcare team.
Clinical Support
Assist Registered Nurses during wound care, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
Assist with medication reminders and support medication administration as permitted by DHA regulations and organizational policies.
Prepare basic medical supplies and equipment for patient care.
Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout care delivery.
Assist in collecting specimens when delegated and within the scope of practice.
Homecare Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic home care environment.
Ensure medical equipment is clean, functional, and stored properly.
Observe infection prevention and control measures during all patient interactions.
Educate patients and caregivers on basic hygiene, mobility assistance, and safety measures as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Assist with transportation or accompanying patients to appointments where assigned.
Documentation
Accurately document care provided, observations, vital signs, and patient responses in the designated documentation system.
Report any incidents, accidents, or changes in patient condition promptly.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.
Infection Prevention \& Safety
Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow safe handling and disposal procedures for clinical waste and sharps.
Ensure patient safety by identifying and reporting environmental hazards in the home.
Participate in emergency response procedures when required.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with Registered Nurses, Physicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding the patient's care plan.
Participate in patient handovers and care coordination activities.

Comply with DHA regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards.
Participate in mandatory training, competency assessments, and continuing professional development.
Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing or completion of an accredited Assistant Nurse/Practical Nurse program from a recognized institution.
Valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License or DHA Eligibility Letter as an Assistant Nurse.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in homecare, hospital, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
Experience caring for elderly, pediatric, post-operative, or chronically ill patients is an advantage.
Previous experience in a DHA-licensed healthcare facility is preferred.
Knowledge \& Skills
Knowledge of basic nursing care and patient support techniques.
Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately.
Understanding of infection prevention and control practices.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an advantage.
