School website: www.chorleymayfield.lancs.sch.uk Summary We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support and develop physical development across the school. This is a temporary role to cover a maternity leave from 1st January 2027 to 31st December 2027, or until the postholder returns. You must have an excellent attendance record and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The person appointed will be working across all phases in school, planning and delivering PE/MATP/Rebound therapy and physical sessions, working collaboratively with class teachers, physio therapists and OTs to meet the personal, social, medical and curriculum related needs of the pupils including sharing ideas and strategies. You will need to assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of the curriculum, adapting teaching for a range of different needs and tracking pupil progress on Evidence for learning. You will be expected to undertake supervisory cover for groups or classes as appropriate. You will also need to establish positive, supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and the wider community.
The list of duties will include: Planning PE/physical sessions for groups or classes across school to support PPA cover; ensuring the Mayfield Physical curriculum is delivered to individuals, groups and classes in line with their JAM targets leading on Mayfield Team games and forging links with other schools, leading on inter-school competitions. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to use their own initiative, prioritise work and evaluate their own effectiveness. They will also have: Motivated, energetic and patient personality; Experience of managing discharge behaviours and implementing support strategies; Holistic approach to regulation, sensory and communication needs; A good understanding of moving and handling policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications
* Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
