HGV Class 1 Driver

Most Class 1 adverts are agency cover wearing a permanent badge. This one is the opposite.

JPR Logistics is a growing haulage firm based at Drayton Manor Business Park, Tamworth. We're building a small team of Class 1 drivers who want one employer, a rate that climbs, and an office that knows them by name. Not seat-fillers — drivers who stay.

The Deal

• From £15.36 per hour, pegged at 1.2 x the National Living Wage. Incremental rise on performance.
• PAYE only — no umbrella companies, no Ltd company, no self-employed arrangements
• Full-time, permanent, part-time, nights and weekends start ASAP
• Pay rises reviewed on performance and commitment, not just time served
• Problems go through the office, not the roadside — you drive, we sort it
• A growing firm, so drivers already in the cab get first look at what comes next

The Work

• Nationwide collections and deliveries in a Class 1 artic unit, based out of our Tamworth depot
• Trailer drops and collections at supermarket RDCs and other sites across the UK
• Walkaround checks recorded pre- and post-shift, loads secured with straps and corner protectors, clear POD uploaded through the company app on every job
• Working independently and trusted to get the job done professionally — no two days the same

The Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (CE) HGV licence — essential, no other category considered
• Current Driver CPC qualification card, all 35 hours of periodic training up to date
• Valid digital tachograph / smart card
• Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
• No more than 6 penalty points, and no DR, DD, IN, MS, or drink/drug driving convictions
• Solid working knowledge of UK drivers' hours rules and tachograph operation
• Competent spoken and written English
• Right to work in the UK, with proof before employment starts
• Able to pass a basic DBS check where customer sites require it
