Drill Rig Mechanic

Location: Scranton, PA
Job Type: Full-Time \| On-site

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Drill Rig Mechanic to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain drilling rigs and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and mechanical systems and be comfortable reading technical drawings while supporting the build and repair of custom drilling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, repair, rebuild, and maintain drilling rigs and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, diesel, and electrical systems.
  • Install and service engines, pumps, hydraulic components, valves, cylinders, and controls.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform equipment inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to support custom drill rig builds.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and production standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience repairing or assembling drill rigs, heavy equipment, or construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Scranton, PA.

Pay: $26.84 - $35.00 per hour

  • hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and mechanical systems: 3 years (Required)

  • Read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, technical drawings: 1 year (Required)
  • using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment: 1 year (Required)
