A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in New Zealand provides essential support to nurses and other healthcare professionals in hospitals, aged care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and community care settings.

Job Description

• Typical responsibilities include:
• Assisting patients with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Helping patients move safely, including transferring between beds and wheelchairs.
• Monitoring and recording basic observations (such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure if trained).
• Assisting patients with eating and drinking.
• Making beds, cleaning patient areas, and restocking medical supplies.
• Supporting nurses with patient care and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Completing basic documentation and reporting changes in patients' conditions to registered nurses.

Pay: $4,500.00 – $6,000.00 per month
