Health & Social Care / Childcare / Children and Young People Webinar Tutor
Job Description

About South London College

South London College is a UK-based education and training provider delivering accredited professional development and certification programmes to learners across the UK and internationally. We are committed to delivering high-quality, accessible and engaging learning experiences, and we are currently expanding our specialist team to support our growing learner community in Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People.

The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People professionals to join our freelance team as a Webinar Tutor. This is primarily a webinar delivery role — you will be conducting live, interactive one-hour online sessions for our learners across topics in Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People.

We provide all the materials you need in advance, including the topic, presentation slides and any supporting resources. Your role is to deliver the session engagingly and professionally, ensuring learners are supported and the content is clearly communicated.

In addition to webinar delivery, we strongly welcome applicants who also hold assessor and/or IQA qualifications in Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People as this opens the door to additional assessing and quality assurance work with us on a flexible, as-and-when basis.

Webinar Delivery — What the Role Involves

  • Delivering live one-hour online webinar sessions to learners on Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People topics
  • Working from materials provided by South London College in advance — topic, PowerPoint slides and supporting resources
  • Presenting content clearly and engagingly to a learner audience
  • Sessions are typically scheduled once to twice per month and may vary depending on the programme calendar
  • All sessions are conducted fully remotely via Zoom platform
  • Webinar sessions are typically scheduled during daytime or early evening hours — specific scheduling will be agreed with you in advance

Additional Opportunities

Candidates who hold recognised assessor and/or IQA qualifications in Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People may also be offered additional freelance work including:

  • Assessing learner portfolios and assignments
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) of assessed work

Please note that additional work beyond webinar delivery is offered on a flexible, as-and-when basis and is subject to learner demand and your availability.

What We Are Looking For — Webinar Delivery

  • Strong, current subject knowledge in the Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People sector
  • Confident and engaging presenter — comfortable delivering live online sessions to a learner audience
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain specialist content clearly and accessibly
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage your own time
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Essential — Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in Health \& Social Care, Childcare or Children and Young People at Level 3 or above (e.g. Level 3 Diploma, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent degree-level qualification)
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent (GCSE Grade C/4 or above)
  • Minimum 2 years of active experience in the Health \& Social Care, Childcare and Children and Young People sector
  • Minimum 1 year of experience delivering live online webinars or virtual training sessions
  • Active and up-to-date CPD record

Desirable — Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification — Award in Education and Training (AET L3), Certificate in Education and Training (CET L4), Diploma in Education and Training (DET L5), PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent
  • Assessor qualification — CAVA, A1, D32/D33, TAQA or equivalent
  • IQA qualification — Level 4 Award or Certificate in Internal Quality Assurance, V1, D34 or equivalent
  • Experience working with Pearson BTEC, NCFE/CACHE or equivalent awarding organisations
  • Current DBS check (Enhanced)

What We Offer

  • Starting from £40 per one-hour webinar session
  • Additional pay rates for assessing and IQA work — discussed at contract stage for eligible candidates
  • All session materials provided in advance — topic, slides and supporting resources
  • Fully remote working — no travel required
  • Flexible, freelance arrangement — work around your existing commitments
  • Straightforward onboarding process for successful candidates

Pay: £40.00-£60.00 per hour
