In this environment, communications is a strategic business function — influencing perception, shaping global conversations, strengthening trust, and supporting long-term business success.

This role combines global media relations, digital engagement, corporate social media, and international narrative orchestration. You will define how Audi shows up in the global conversation — across media, platforms, markets, and stakeholders.

You will report into the Vice President of Global Communications \& Corporate Affairs, and work closely with senior leadership, regional communications teams, product communications, executive communications, and Public Affairs to position Audi as a progressive, globally relevant premium brand.

Job Purpose/Role

Global Media Relations

  • Define and lead Audi’s global media relations strategy across all major markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leading international journalists, editors, broadcasters, and opinion leaders
  • Position Audi proactively in top-tier global media and shape relevant public debates Identify global media opportunities and reputational risks early and act decisively
  • Narrative \& Reputation Management
  • Shape and orchestrate globally consistent narratives across markets and channels
  • Strengthen Audi’s external positioning during a period of profound industry transformation
  • Lead international issues and crisis communications in high-pressure environments Advise senior leadership on reputational dynamics, media perception, and strategic positioning
  • Digital Engagement \& Social Media
  • Lead the evolution of Audi’s corporate digital communications ecosystem
  • Oversee corporate social media strategy, governance, and platform development
  • Strengthen the impact, relevance, and consistency of Audi’s digital storytelling globally Advance a cutting-edge, data-driven and audience-focused approach to digital engagement
  • Leadership \& Collaboration
  • Lead and develop a high-performing international team
  • Build strong partnerships across global markets, business units, and the Volkswagen Group Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives and key stakeholders worldwide
  • Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Academic Degree in Communications or Journalism

  • Extensive international leadership experience in global communications, media relations, journalism, or reputation management
  • Strong and established network with internationally relevant top-tier media
  • Proven ability to shape narratives and position organizations or leaders in complex global environments
  • Deep understanding of today’s media landscape, digital ecosystems, and platform dynamics
  • Strong strategic judgment combined with operational excellence and execution speed
  • Experience managing crises, geopolitical sensitivities, transformation processes, and high-pressure situations
  • Excellent leadership skills in complex, matrixed, international organizations
  • Executive presence, confidence, and strong advisory capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, resilience, and high personal credibility
  • Excellent English and German skills required; additional languages are an advantage
