Gym Instructor, Group Strength Classes

Job Summary

• Two regular slots that are yours: Monday morning and Thursday evening
• $57 per class, inclusive of super, plus a full membership across everything we run

Move\& is a neighbourhood studio in Footscray. We run reformer pilates, mat pilates, yoga, gym strength classes, and a wellness room with an infrared sauna, all on one membership.

Two owners, David and Tara, are both physiotherapists and are super passionate about getting as many people moving as possible!

We're looking for a gym instructor to take our group strength classes on Monday mornings and Thursday evenings.

The Classes

Programmed group strength sessions, usually 9-12 people. Barbells, dumbbells, bikes and skis. You coach the room, look after form, and adjust the session for whoever walks in that morning. Some of them are two weeks into training again after a long time away. Some have been with us since we opened. Both get the same energy from you, and that's the studio we're trying to run.

Around the class you'll open or close the studio, check members in, and say hello to anyone new. We'll show you all of it, and our Studio Manager will have your back while you find your feet.

Who Does Well Here

The instructors who love it here are the ones who know each member by name. That's the heart of the job.

If you coach with warmth, meet people where they are, and get a kick out of watching a regular get stronger over months rather than weeks, you'll fit right in.

You'll also need:

• Cert III and IV in Fitness, or equivalent
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Experience coaching groups, not only one-on-one PT
• Availability Monday morning and Thursday evening each week
• To live close enough to Footscray that a 6am start works for you

What We Offer

$57 per class on weekdays, inclusive of super. If you want more work, weekend classes are $63 per hour inclusive of super.

A full membership across everything we run: reformer, mat, yoga, gym, and sauna. We'd love you to use it.

And a team of instructors who genuinely look after each other when someone needs a cover.
