Grocery Store Associate/ Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Grocery Store Cashier/Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales and cashiering. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, as they enhance customer interactions and team support. Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly
• Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and store shelves through stocking and merchandising
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with product replenishment
• Promote store promotions, sales, and special offers to customers
• Supervise or assist in supervising staff during shifts as needed
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members using phone etiquette and clear communication skills

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store operations preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer needs
• Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team
• Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and stock management is beneficial
