General Dentist – Responsibilities
- Examine patients and assess their oral and dental health.
- Diagnose common dental conditions and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform routine preventive and restorative dental procedures within DHP-approved privileges.
- Perform dental restorations such as composite and other approved restorative treatments.
- Provide scaling, prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, fissure sealants and oral-hygiene education as permitted.
- Perform teeth whitening and other approved cosmetic dental procedures.
- Take, request and interpret appropriate dental radiographs and diagnostic investigations.
- Manage dental pain and common dental emergencies within the dentist's scope.
- Perform other procedures such as root canal treatment, prosthodontic work, surgical procedures or implant-related treatment only where these fall within the dentist's approved core or additional privileges.
- Prescribe medications appropriately and maintain accurate patient medical and dental records.
- Explain diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, costs and post-treatment instructions to patients.
- Obtain appropriate informed consent before procedures.
- Refer complex cases to the appropriate dental specialist when treatment is outside the General Dentist's competence or approved privileges.
- Follow infection-control, sterilization, patient-safety and clinical-quality requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with facility policies and Qatar healthcare regulations.
- Maintain a valid DHP licence and complete required professional development/licensing requirements.
- Work collaboratively with dental assistants, nurses, specialists and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in dental-health education, preventive programs and appropriate patient follow-up.
Pay: From QAR10,000.00 per month
