- Oversee overall workshop operations, including repair planning, job scheduling, and manpower allocation.
- Ensure high truck availability by reducing downtime and completing repairs on time.
- Manage end-to-end repair tracking to ensure full visibility of all jobs from start to finish.
- Monitor workshop productivity, including mechanic output and repair turnaround time, and drive improvements.
- Plan and ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on schedule (servicing, bush, bearing, brake, greasing).
- Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and follow up on any overdue servicing.
- Control workshop costs, including labour, spare parts, and external repair expenses.
- Assess repair requirements and decide on appropriate repair methods (minor vs major issues).
- Coordinate closely with operations and planning teams to ensure trucks are ready for daily deployment.
- Work with store and inventory teams to manage spare parts usage and avoid wastage or stock issues.
- Implement SOPs, structured workflows, and proper reporting systems for workshop operations.
- Ensure workshop safety, cleanliness (5S), and compliance with regulations.
- Supervise and guide workshop staff, including performance monitoring and discipline.
- Report regularly to management on truck availability, repair status, maintenance compliance, and cost performance.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in heavy vehicle workshop or fleet maintenance management.
- Strong leadership experience managing mechanics and workshop teams.
- Hands-on technical knowledge of heavy vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills in cost control, productivity, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in implementing systems, SOPs, and structured workflows.
- Able to enforce discipline and drive accountability within the team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or workshop management systems.
- Results-driven, structured, and operationally hands-on.
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
