Financial Manager – Ecommerce

We’re a fast-growing, multi-channel e-commerce business, and we’re looking for a Financial Manager to take full ownership of the numbers behind our growth.

You’ll be responsible for turning complex, multi-channel financial and marketplace data into clear, reliable insights that leadership can use to make better business decisions.

Working directly with leadership, you’ll become the internal source of truth for cash flow, profitability, margins, inventory, and financial performance across all of our sales channels. You’ll bring structure, accuracy, and visibility to the numbers — helping the business understand where we are today and make smarter decisions about where we go next.

What You’ll Own

• Multi-channel financial reconciliation. Reconcile Amazon, Shopify, and Walmart settlement and payout reports against bank deposits, ensuring fees, refunds, chargebacks, reserves, and other adjustments are accurately captured and investigated.
• Monthly close \& P\&L reporting. Own the monthly financial close and deliver accurate, management-level P\&L reporting by sales channel and parent-level SKU. Reports should be timely, clear, and ready to support business decisions.
• COGS \& landed cost accuracy. Maintain accurate product costs, including factory pricing, freight, duties, and tariffs, ensuring SKU-level profitability and margin reporting are reliable.
• Inventory accounting. Maintain accurate inventory valuation across in-transit inventory, FBA, warehouse, and 3PL locations, aligned with demand forecasts and purchase order data.
• Inventory reconciliation. Reconcile accounting records with physical inventory counts and warehouse/3PL data, identifying discrepancies and driving them to resolution.
• Cash flow management. Forecast and monitor cash position across marketplace payout cycles, inventory and PO commitments, operating expenses, and payroll, providing leadership with clear visibility into upcoming cash requirements.
• AP/AR oversight. Own or oversee the bookkeeping processes supporting the business, including vendor payments, receivables, expense categorization, and related financial controls.
• Marketplace fee management. Ensure referral fees, FBA fees, storage fees, advertising costs, and other marketplace expenses are correctly categorized and reflected in profitability reporting.
• Sales tax compliance. Monitor multi-state economic nexus requirements for our Shopify business, coordinating required filings with Numeral while working alongside marketplace facilitator processes.
• Payroll \& benefits coordination. Process or oversee payroll and benefits administration across the team, working with our PEO and HR systems where applicable.
• Tax \& CPA coordination. Act as the primary internal point of contact for our external CPA and tax advisors, ensuring they have accurate and timely financial information and that required filings and deadlines are managed effectively.

About You

We’re looking for someone who understands the financial complexity of a multi-channel e-commerce business. You’ve worked directly with marketplace settlements, inventory, fees, margins, and cash flow — and know how to turn that complexity into accurate, actionable financial information.

You’ll also bring:

• E-commerce / DTC finance experience. Previous experience as a Controller, Financial Manager, or Senior Accounting/Finance Manager within an e-commerce, DTC, or marketplace business.
• Marketplace expertise. Hands-on experience working with companies selling on Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, or similar marketplaces is required. You understand settlement reports, marketplace fees, reserves, refunds, chargebacks, and payout structures.
• Accounting systems expertise. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or Xero, with experience using e-commerce accounting and reconciliation tools such as A2X or Link My Books.
• Advanced Excel \& spreadsheet skills. You’re confident working with large, complex datasets and can build accurate, structured, decision-ready financial reporting independently.
• Analytical mindset. A background in financial analysis, FP\&A, or business analytics is a plus. More importantly, you know how to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
• Ownership \& accountability. You’re comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for the accuracy of the numbers, identifying problems before they become bigger issues, and following them through to resolution.
• Strong attention to detail. You care about getting the numbers right, but you also understand the bigger picture — how financial accuracy directly impacts profitability, inventory decisions, cash flow, and business growth.
