Job Description

Job Introduction

As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through reinventing chocolate, we’re looking for a Finance Analyst - Logistics to join our Finance Team on a permanent basis.

As Finance Analyst, you will support with the financial reporting and operational performance analysis to help drive accurate decision making across the Fulfilment and Digital Transformation function.

You will be responsible for producing weekly cost estimates in collaboration with our operational teams, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and compiling reports on areas such as stock, labour costs, KPIs and variance analysis. You will also the reconciliation of weekly estimates to monthly actuals, investigating variances and supporting continuous improvements in reporting accuracy and financial insight.

What you’ll be doing….

  • Data gathering for production of weekly cost estimates, liaising with the operational teams to ensure costs have been captured and are reported accurately.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations – monthly production of, and eye to improve insight they provide.
  • Compile and distribute weekly reports that deliver insights into operational performance, e.g. stock reports, labour costings including KPI and variance analysis
  • Reconcile weekly estimates to monthly actuals, understanding variances, enabling more accurate weekly estimates to be produced.
  • Review and improve current processes, to give greater insight to budget holders, and make the process more efficient.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis to provide insight and help manage operational spend.
  • Calculation of accruals and prepayments for month-end process, including posting journals.
  • Building and maintaining advanced spreadsheets in Excel.

Who you are…

Essential

  • Proven advanced Excel skills e.g. ability to use and understand “sumif” and “sumproduct” formulas.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within an accounts department and using accounting packages.
  • Thorough attention to detail, ensuring reports are accurate.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential data.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with D365 accounting package.
  • Logistics experience.
