Fashion Designer (Women’s Apparel)

Job Descriptions:

• Develop innovative and fashionable concepts for attire catering to Muslimah women.
• Research global fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes for women’s wear.
• Create original designs for categories including casualwear, formalwear, and athleisure.
• Ensure all designs align with brand positioning and target market.
• Prepare technical sketches (flats) and detailed design specifications.
• Work closely with product development and sourcing teams on fabric, trims, and costing.
• Develop prototypes and oversee the sampling process.
• Conduct fitting sessions and make necessary design adjustments.
• Monitor competitor brands and analyze market trends.
• Analyze sales data to identify best-selling and slow-moving products.
• Translate trend and sales insights into commercially viable designs.
• Collaborate with merchandising, buying, and marketing teams for cohesive collections.
• Support visual merchandising direction for in-store product presentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure smooth production execution.
• Ensure final products meet quality standards, design intent, and seasonal launch timelines.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Degree in Fashion Design.
• 2–5+ years of experience in women’s apparel design is an advantage.
• Experience in retail or commercial fashion brands is preferred.
• Strong understanding of women’s fashion trends and consumer behaviour.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and fitting.
• Strong sketching and visualisation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness beyond creative design.
• Creative and detail-oriented personality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and seasonal timelines.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.
• Candidates who are able to speak and write in Mandarin/Chinese will have an added advantage.
