Position: Fabrication Foreman

Location: Saudi Arabia (KSA) / UAE
Department: Production / Steel Fabrication
Reports To: Production Manager / Workshop Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Foreman to supervise and coordinate daily steel fabrication activities within the workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fabrication teams, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, and enforcing safety procedures while delivering projects on schedule.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Workshop Management

• Supervise and lead structural fabricators, welders, fitters, grinders, and helpers in daily fabrication activities.
• Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently to achieve production targets.
• Monitor fabrication progress and ensure work is completed according to approved fabrication drawings and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Production Engineers, Planning Engineers, QA/QC Inspectors, and Workshop Managers regarding production requirements.
• Ensure fabrication activities are executed in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.

Fabrication Supervision

• Interpret and verify fabrication drawings, GA drawings, shop drawings, and material cutting lists.
• Oversee fabrication of:
• Structural Steel Buildings
• PEB Structures
• Columns & Beams
• Trusses
• Platforms & Walkways
• Staircases & Handrails
• Pipe Supports
• Canopies and Miscellaneous Steel Works
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, dimensions, and tolerances before welding.
• Resolve fabrication issues and provide technical guidance to workshop personnel.

Quality Control

• Ensure fabricated components meet drawing specifications and client requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for inspections and approvals.
• Monitor dimensional checks and quality compliance throughout fabrication stages.
• Minimize rework through effective supervision and quality control.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Enforce company HSE policies and workshop safety procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.

Resource & Material Management

• Monitor material availability and report shortages.
• Ensure proper utilization of fabrication machinery and tools.
• Coordinate material movement between cutting, fit-up, welding, and dispatch areas.
• Monitor consumable usage and reduce material wastage.

Reporting

• Prepare daily production progress reports.
• Report manpower productivity and fabrication status.
• Coordinate with planning teams regarding production schedules and delivery requirements.
• Highlight delays, bottlenecks, and resource requirements to management.

RequirementsEducation

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, or related field preferred.
• Trade certification in Steel Fabrication is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in Structural Steel Fabrication.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Fabrication Foreman in a steel fabrication workshop.
• Experience in heavy structural steel, industrial steel structures, and PEB projects.
• GCC/KSA/UAE experience preferred.
