JOB PURPOSE

The role holder is responsible for overseeing the operation, installation, maintenance, calibration, and performance of water metering systems. The role ensures that all water meters are installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with COMPANY standards, regulatory requirements, and best industry practices, while supporting accurate metering, data reliability, and system performance.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the operation, maintenance, testing, calibration, and performance monitoring of all types of water metering systems.
• Ensures proper installation, configuration, and functionality of water meters in compliance with COMPANY standards, safety regulations, and approved procedures.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to water meters, accessories, and systems.
• Coordinates with technical teams, CONTRACTORs, and service providers to enhance water meter accuracy, reliability, and operational performance.
• Monitors meter installation, replacement, upgrade, and maintenance activities to ensure quality.
• Reviews and analyzes water meter performance data and prepares reports, observations, and Recommendation.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to water metering technologies, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Ensures proper implementation of preventive maintenance programs for water metering systems.
• Assists in technical evaluations, inspections, and verification of metering works at site.
• Provides technical input on water metering systems, equipment selection, and best practices.
• Ensures compliance with ISO requirements, Risk Management, ISMS, BCMS, and other corporate governance frameworks and corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Carries out any other duties or assignments as directed by the immediate supervisor or management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE \& SKILLS

Qualifications / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.

Experience

Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in water metering systems or a related field, preferably within a utility or large infrastructure environment.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve water meter-related issues.
• Familiarity with regulatory and operational requirements for water metering and distribution systems.

• Efficiency, Adaptability, Communication, Initiative.
• Written and Spoken English is essential; Arabic is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The role involves regular site visits, inspections, and coordination activities, including work in outdoor and operational environments as required.
