Hope Community Resources, Inc. is a non-profit disabilities service provider based in Anchorage, Alaska. Founded in 1968, our company provides services and supports to people of all ages and abilities who experience an intellectual, developmental, or other disability, traumatic brain injury, or mental health challenge.

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play an important role in creating a positive employee experience and strengthening Hope's workforce. You'll serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership, providing guidance on workplace concerns, performance management, organizational policies, and employment practices.

Through collaboration, employee advocacy, and proactive problem-solving, you'll help cultivate a workplace where employees feel supported, leaders feel empowered, and our organization continues to grow.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership, promoting open communication, positive workplace relationships, and constructive conflict resolution.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to develop effective performance management strategies, navigate employee concerns, and promote fair and consistent accountability practices.
  • Assist with employee relations inquiries and investigations, collaborating with partners to ensure thoughtful, objective, and timely resolutions.
  • Facilitate the ADA interactive process and collaborate with employees, management, and relevant departments to evaluate reasonable accommodation requests.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate and improve personnel policies, procedures, and processes that support employees and organizational effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on evolving employment laws and regulations, providing practical guidance and training that supports consistent, compliant HR practices.
  • Coordinate employee-related vehicle accident reporting and related documentation, partnering with leadership and Benefits to address accountability and workers' compensation considerations.
  • Connect with employees to understand their experiences, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend proactive strategies that strengthen employee satisfaction and retention.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or directly related field; and
  • Two years of progressive experience in human resources; one year of which must be in supervision or performing employee relations duties.
  • Equivalent combination of related education and/or work experience. Human Resources or managerial experience in social services and/or employee relations strongly preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred
