ECommerce Developer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced E-commerce Developer who can develop, customize, maintain, and optimize our e-commerce websites on WordPress/WooCommerce and Shopify. The candidate should be able to build user-friendly, mobile-responsive, fast, and conversion-focused online stores while supporting marketing, product, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain e-commerce websites using WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify.
• Create and modify Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON templates.
• Customize WordPress themes and plugins based on business requirements.
• Build landing pages, campaign pages, product pages, collection pages, and promotional sections.
• Manage website updates including banners, content blocks, product layouts, navigation, and checkout-related improvements.
• Integrate payment gateways, shipping providers, tracking tools, CRM, ERP, and third-party apps.
• Work with APIs for product data, inventory, order status, customer data, and marketplace integrations.
• Optimize websites for speed, mobile performance, SEO, and conversion rate.
• Troubleshoot bugs, plugin conflicts, theme issues, checkout errors, and performance problems.
• Ensure websites are responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
• Implement analytics and tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and other marketing pixels.
• Coordinate with designers to convert Figma/Adobe XD designs into functional web pages.
• Support product upload structure, category pages, filters, search, and user experience improvements.
• Maintain website security, backups, version control, and staging environments.
• Test website features before launch and ensure smooth deployment.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify.
• Experience in Shopify theme development and customization.
• Knowledge of Shopify Liquid, sections, blocks, metafields, and custom templates.
• Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive design.
• Experience with WordPress theme customization and plugin configuration.
• Understanding of WooCommerce checkout, product types, coupons, shipping, and payment settings.
• Basic knowledge of PHP for WordPress customization.
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and website speed optimization.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
• Ability to debug front-end and back-end website issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Shopify Plus is an advantage.
• Experience with custom Shopify apps or private app integrations.
• Knowledge of page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, or Shopify page builders.
• Experience with Odoo, ERP, inventory, or order management integrations.
• Knowledge of CRO, A/B testing, and user behavior tools.
• Experience with tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, GTmetrix, Search Console, and Hotjar.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles.
• Experience in retail, electronics, auto parts, jewellery, or marketplace e-commerce is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress/WooCommerce and Shopify development.
• Strong portfolio of e-commerce websites is preferred.
