Job Description

The Fairfield Inn and Suites is currently seeking a Director of Sales. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, goal oriented, results driven individual, someone who strives for excellence and wants to make a difference. This is a salary plus commission position with unlimited earning potential.

The hotel is owned and managed by The Wankawala Organization, a hotel/restaurant management company that owns and operates entities throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania.

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversee the sales and marketing efforts for the hotel. The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for directing the sales and marketing efforts of the hotel in order to maximize revenue.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Overseeing the retention and acquisition of accounts by growing existing accounts and generating new business to a level that meets or exceeds sales forecasts.

2. Executes all aspects of the sales and marketing plans to surpass revenue goals.

3. Make sales calls, both inside and outside, for prospecting to find new business and maintenance to maintain relationships with current accounts.

4. Build and maintain relationships with key clients. Creates and solicits new business through innovative means.

5. Attend CVB and Chamber events to maintain a presence in the community.

6. Be involved with local civic organizations to maintain a presence in the community.

7. Have a knowledge and understanding of events going on in the area and at competitor hotels.

8. Respond to RFP's for the hotel.

9. Assist in monitoring rates and making recommendations for yielding rates for better rate management.

10. Handle all sales leads.

11. Must appropriately address guest requests to ensure customers are satisfied with the hotel's services and accommodations.

12. Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property.

13. Assists with the preparation of the yearly and quarterly sales and marketing budgets as well as the annual marketing plan.

14. Oversees the yielding of the group blocks.

15. Develop business plans as needed.

16. Works with the general manager to analyze sales and marketing reports.

17. Ensures that the proper systems are being utilized to track all sales files, sales calls, and production of various rate plans or the hotel.

18. Attend sales and marketing meetings and training sessions offered by the brand.
