WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Director of CIAM Product \& Strategy with Auth0 specialization is responsible for leading the strategic direction, product roadmap, and technical implementation of Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions leveraging Auth0 as the primary platform. This role provides thought leadership globally for CIAM solutions, supports high-performing teams to deliver well-aligned and prioritized roadmaps, and manages Auth0 platform optimization and vendor relationships. The role ensures CIAM solutions enhance business value while maintaining security and compliance standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Auth0 CIAM Strategy \& Roadmap Development

  • Work directly with LoB stakeholders to understand their identity and access management requirements for Auth0 platform adoption
  • Translate business requirements into Auth0 technical specifications aligned with platform capabilities (SSO, MFA, B2B/B2C identity, passwordless authentication)
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact CIAM capabilities that leverage Auth0 features to reduce manual effort and improve security posture
  • Ensure solutions address both immediate migration needs to Auth0 and long-term identity governance requirements

Auth0 Platform Architecture \& Standards

  • Collaborate with CIAM development and architecture teams to define the vision and technical standards for Auth0-based CIAM solutions
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to validate Auth0 solution designs and ensure buy-in on platform direction
  • Establish Auth0 governance frameworks ensuring security standards compliance, operational feasibility, and alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure Auth0 implementations are maintainable, scalable, and meet enterprise security and architectural standards

Vendor Management \& Auth0 Partnership

  • Act as liaison between business teams and CIAM engineering teams, translating requirements and ensuring alignment on Auth0-based solution delivery
  • Communicate Auth0 CIAM roadmaps, platform benefits, and implementation progress to technical and business audiences
  • Address implementation risks and iterate on Auth0 solutions based on stakeholder feedback and platform capabilities
  • Maintain strategic relationships with Auth0 solution engineers and customer success managers to maximize platform value

Auth0 Platform Optimization \& Performance

  • Identify bottlenecks in current identity management processes and recommend Auth0-based solutions to improve efficiency
  • Track and measure improvements in identity administration, provisioning, and access management resulting from Auth0 implementation
  • Continuously optimize Auth0 platform configurations, rules, and integrations to maximize business value and operational efficiency
  • Ensure Auth0 configurations align with security best practices and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PIPEDA)

Developing \& Coaching

  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team with Auth0 expertise, providing opportunities for growth and setting clear performance objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse, skilled workforce with focus on CIAM and Auth0 technical excellence
  • Drive improvements and ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the team in delivering Auth0-based solutions
  • Perform quarterly reviews with staff, ensuring evaluations encompass project feedback and comparative assessment across the team
  • Exercise HR best practices and talent management, with focus on building Auth0 subject matter expertise
  • Enhance team members' capability in Auth0 platform expertise to ensure high achievement environment

Managerial Excellence:

  • Ensure that employees understand RBC vision and support targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals
  • Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, managing performance, supporting career development, and rewarding strong performance
  • Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process and maintaining focus on business priorities
  • Lead development of information security awareness and communication programs aligned with Auth0-based CIAM strategy and compliance requirements
  • Monitor CIAM trends, regulations, and emerging Auth0 capabilities globally to ensure RBC strategies remain current and competitive
  • Promote Auth0-based CIAM best practices, strategy, and vision across the organization through successful solution delivery and participation in industry events

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 10+ years' experience working in technology operations in large enterprise organizations
  • 7+ years experience working in identity management; demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale identity solutions
  • Experience in CIAM, Product Management, Architecture, and Identity Platform specialization (Auth0 or similar platforms)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Auth0 platform architecture, configuration, and deployment patterns
  • Deep knowledge of identity standards (OIDC, SAML, OAuth 2.0, JWT)
  • Expertise in API security, authorization patterns, and microservices integration
  • Strong background in cloud-based identity platforms and SaaS solutions
  • Experience with identity governance and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PIPEDA)
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automation solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries (preferred)
  • Auth0 Certification or equivalent identity platform expertise
  • Thorough understanding of key players, market dynamics, and trends in identity management and financial services
  • Ability to keep abreast of emerging identity technologies and think strategically about business opportunities
  • Experience managing CIAM budgets greater than $10MM
  • Knowledge of identity governance, access management, and compliance frameworks
