Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and oral cavity. Provides professional dental care and treatment to patients while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and quality assurance. Demonstrates professionalism at all times and complies with departmental policies, national and international standards, and patient safety regulations. Ensures accurate documentation, safe handling of dental instruments, and effective patient communication throughout all dental procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.

B. Performs restorative, preventive, and cosmetic dental procedures as required.

C. Develops and explains treatment plans to patients and obtains informed consent prior to procedures.

D. Maintains complete and accurate patient dental records and treatment documentation.

E. Ensures strict compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.

F. Performs routine dental examinations and oral health assessments.

G. Prescribes medications and interprets diagnostic tests and dental x-rays when necessary.

H. Educates patients on oral hygiene, preventive dental care, and post-treatment instructions.

I. Supervises and works collaboratively with Dental Assistants, Hygienists, and other clinical staff.

J. Ensures proper care, handling, and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.

K. Maintains cleanliness and environmental safety of the treatment room at all times.

L. Participates in departmental quality improvement and TQM programs.

M. Responds appropriately to emergency situations within the Dental Department.

N. Keeps current with departmental policies, procedures, and mandatory annual training programs.

O. Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with medical ethics and center policies.

P. Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.

Q. Complies with national and international healthcare standards and regulations.

R. Performs other duties within the scope of knowledge, skills, and experience as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATIONAL LICENSURE:

A. Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry from an accredited institution.

B. Valid SCFHS License to practice in KSA.

C. Valid professional classification and registration certificate.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

A. Minimum of two years clinical experience in a dental practice, clinic, or hospital setting.

B. Experience must be current and within six (6) months of application.

C. Previous KSA dental work experience is an advantage.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

A. Strong clinical and diagnostic dental skills.

B. Excellent communication and patient care skills.

C. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

D. Good English language skills required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

E. Ability to work positively in a multicultural environment.

F. Computer literacy and knowledge of dental software systems are essential.

G. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:

Must be in good physical condition and fit to perform all related duties.

HOURS/SHIFT OR WORK:

Staff must be available to work assigned shifts in the department. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours.
