We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable team members to join Lumino St Albans across a number of exciting opportunities.

Whether you're an experienced Dental Assistant, enjoy delivering exceptional customer service at reception, or are interested in supporting our clinical team through sterilisation and infection control, we'd love to hear from you.

Available Positions

Position 1: Receptionist / Dental Assistant \| Full Time

This varied role combines front-of-house reception duties with chairside dental assisting, making it perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Hours:

• Tuesday: 8:00am - 4:45pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:15pm
• Thursday: 7:15am - 4:30pm
• Friday: 7:15am - 4:45pm
• Saturday: 7:45am - 3:00pm

Position 2: Sterilisation/Dental Assistant \| Part Time

In this role, you'll work closely with our clinicians to deliver exceptional patient care. You'll provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures, prepare treatment rooms, maintain high standards of infection control, manage instrument sterilisation, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

Hours:

• Monday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
• Tuesday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
• Thursday: 10:00am - 3:00pm

Position 3: Dental Assistant \| Part Time

This position offers another opportunity to join our clinical support team, contributing to efficient practice operations and outstanding patient care through sterilisation and chairside assistance.

Hours:

• Monday: 8:45am - 2:45pm
• Wednesday: 7:30am - 5:15pm

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on the position you apply for, your responsibilities may include:

Reception Duties

• Greeting patients and creating a welcoming experience
• Managing appointments and patient enquiries
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient records
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice

Dental Assistant Duties

• Assisting clinicians during a range of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and instruments
• Maintaining infection control and sterilisation standards
• Supporting patients throughout their treatment journey

Sterilisation Duties

• Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining instruments and equipment
• Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols
• Maintaining clinical stock and supplies
• Supporting the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

To be successful in one of these roles, you will ideally have:

• Previous Dental Assistant experience (essential)
• Previous reception, administration, customer service, or healthcare experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• High levels of professionalism and patient care
• Valid New Zealand work rights
• Be based in Christchurch and able to easily commute to Lumino St Albans, ensuring reliability for rostered hours

While dental experience is preferred, it is not essential for all positions, as full training can be provided to the right candidates.
