Delivery Driver

Company: Lidar Windows and Doors Canterbury
Location: Islington, Christchurch

Our business is expanding and we need more drivers to help deliver windows and doors to our customers in Canterbury.

At this stage, we are only shortlisting candidates with permanent rights to work in New Zealand.

Requirements:

• A full class 1 drivers license
• Not essential, but would be an advantage if you have a class 2 or higher license.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience delivering materials to work sites.
• Willingness to work hard and contribute to the team and work in a safe manner at all times.
• Permanent rights to work in New Zealand.

(For any interested class 2 or higher drivers, pay is negotiable)

Duties and Responsibilities:
A Delivery Driver shall carry out all lawful and reasonable instructions of the employer in the delivery of goods and the fabrication of aluminum joinery and must:

• Report to the Production Manager at the start of each shift for instructions.
• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients in a safe, timely manner.
• Be polite and helpful and provide excellent customer service.
• Carry out regular cleaning or minor maintenance of vehicles.
• Report any significant maintenance required or any safety issues.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete.
• Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Comply with company procedures and training for: - Truck loading - Delivery
• Assist and co-operate with other staff members.
• Comply with company procedures regarding stores and raw materials.
• Comply with company procedures regarding waste by-products.
• Keep the vehicles and workplace clean, tidy and free from rubbish or other obstructions.
• As required, carry out cleaning and maintenance work on the employer’s premises, machinery, vehicles and equipment.
• Wear protective clothing supplied and observe the safety rules at all times.

Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour
