About the role
In this key role, you'll drive our cybersecurity programme, strengthen digital risk management, influence secure technology and AI adoption and provide expert advice to senior leaders. You'll ensure cybersecurity risks are understood, managed and embedded across Council's digital operations.
Based in Richmond, this role will work closely with senior leaders to strengthen cybersecurity capability, manage emerging risks and ensure Council maintains resilient and secure digital operations. Provide cybersecurity assurance across projects, cloud platforms, applications and infrastructure, influencing solution designs and promoting secure-by-design outcomes.
You will influence the secure adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled services, helping the Council balance innovation with appropriate risk management."
About you
You are comfortable working with technical specialists, project teams, managers and senior leaders, providing trusted advice that balances cybersecurity risk with business outcomes.
You will be a practical and experienced cybersecurity professional with relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.
You will bring broad technical knowledge across areas such as identity and access management, cloud and network security, vulnerability management, incident response and security assurance, along with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical advice for technical and non-technical audiences.
