We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cybersecurity Consultant to assess, strengthen, and maintain the organization’s cybersecurity posture. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on information security, identify potential risks and vulnerabilities, recommend appropriate security controls, and support the implementation of cybersecurity best practices across systems, networks, applications, and users.
The role will work closely with IT, management, and relevant departments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cybersecurity assessments, risk assessments, and vulnerability reviews across IT systems and infrastructure.
- Identify security vulnerabilities, threats, and potential areas of exposure and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Review and strengthen network, system, application, and endpoint security controls.
- Monitor cybersecurity risks and provide recommendations to reduce the likelihood and impact of security incidents.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Conduct security audits and compliance assessments against relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Review access controls, user permissions, authentication mechanisms, and privileged accounts.
- Assess the security of cloud services, applications, databases, and third-party systems.
- Provide guidance on secure system configuration, data protection, encryption, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct or coordinate vulnerability scanning and penetration testing activities where required.
- Review vendors and third-party service providers from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Support cybersecurity awareness and training programs for employees.
- Develop incident response plans, business continuity recommendations, and cybersecurity risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular cybersecurity reports for senior management, highlighting key risks, findings, and recommended actions.
- Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to IT teams on implementing appropriate security solutions and controls.
