Job Summary:
The Crisis Response Analyst is responsible for triage and quality assurance processes, in support of the Client’s Social Issues programs. This position is primarily responsible for operating the Crisis Response product, which enables the Client’s platform users to mark themselves safe during disasters. The Analyst will proactively monitor global events, gather and disseminate timely information, assess incidents according to the Client’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and activate and oversee all Crisis Response systems.
Job Description:
Monitor open source platforms to analyze global events and assess their impact on the Client’s assets and public users on the Client’s platform
Track forecasts and ongoing conflicts for natural and non-natural threats to the Client’s platform users using open source tools
Conduct damage assessments for natural and non-natural disasters
Communicate Safety Check activations to cross-functional partners in a timely manner
Prepare operational briefs for leadership
Develop forecast reports on emerging global threats
Identify potential questionable user content (e.g. misinformation) on Crisis Response pages, taking appropriate actions
Work on all other duties as assigned, including special projects related to operating procedures, workflow improvements, and crisis data analyses
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Environmental science, Meteorology and Climate Studies, Geography, Political Science, International Relations, Crisis and Disaster Management
Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking, open source research, critical thinking, and problem solving, with excellent time management skills
Able to approach complex problems logically and maintain composure and professionalism in fast-paced, high-stress situations
Ability to write clear and concise incident assessments and reports
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team, while effectively managing multiple competing priorities
Highly self-motivated and able to perform effectively with minimal supervision
Background in disaster response or other emergency/crisis management fields preferred
At least 2 years of experience with customer service background in a fast-paced environment preferred
Proficiency in statistical and data analysis, including coding skills for analytics and data processing (e.g., SQL, R, Python) preferred
Experience with geospatial analysis tools and techniques (e.g. ArcGIS) preferred

12 hours rotational shift schedule
4 work days a week
Ability to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays
