Hours of Work: Rostered shifts between Monday and Saturday, generally between 5:00am and 5:00pm.
Wage Offered: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour

Position Summary

5AB Transport Limited is a New Zealand registered courier transport business providing reliable parcel, freight, and document delivery services throughout Hamilton and surrounding areas. They seek to employ 1 full-time Courier Van Driver to support courier and delivery operations in Hamilton. The role involves the safe, timely, and efficient collection and delivery of parcels, documents, and goods across designated courier runs.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The Courier Van Driver will be responsible for:

• Driving a company van to transport parcels, documents, and goods across designated courier runs.
• Completing daily courier delivery routes within Hamilton.
• Loading, securing, transporting, and unloading items safely to prevent damage or loss.
• Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintaining accurate delivery records, including electronic proof of delivery.
• Using GPS navigation systems, scanners, and other electronic delivery tools.
• Communicating with dispatchers and customers to provide updates or resolve delivery issues.
• Always delivering professional and courteous customer service.
• Complying with company policies, New Zealand road rules, and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Planning efficient delivery routes to ensure deliveries are completed within required timeframes.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a valid New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence or overseas equivalent convertible to a New Zealand licence
• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a courier driver, delivery driver, or transport driver OR Any NZQF Level 3 and above qualification
• Ability to use GPS systems, scanners, or other electronic delivery tools.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills to manage delivery records.
• Physical ability to lift and carry parcels of varying weights.
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.

Additional Requirements

The successful applicant may also be required to:

· Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

· Consent to a Ministry of Justice criminal history check

· Maintain a clean and safe driving record
