We are currently seeking a Country Manager to join our team.We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Country Manager to lead our sourcing operations in Bangladesh. This role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, with local market expertise to drive sourcing initiatives.The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the sourcing office, including general management, country-specific market insights, and compliance with local regulation. As the Country Manager, you will act as the primary representative of PGS in Bangladesh, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring operational efficiency. This role is ideal for a leader with a strong background in sourcing or quality and general management, combined with deep knowledge of the local market in Bangladesh.Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipExecute the Country’s sourcing strategy in alignment with global and regional objectives, partnering with our Sourcing Director.Provide country-specific insights and market intelligence to inform global sourcing decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation.Act as the key representative and decision-maker for the sourcing office, maintaining alignment with our PGS values.General Management and Operational ExcellenceDevelop and manage the office’s annual operating plan, ensuring alignment with financial targets and corporate strategies.Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations, including labour, environmental, and trade compliance requirements.Serve as the primary point of contact for local authorities, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.Ensure robust KPIs are in place for supplier performance, team productivity, and delivery timelines, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Country Insights and Market ExpertiseMonitor and analyse market trends, regulatory changes, and economic conditions in Bangladesh to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate risks.Serve as the expert on local market dynamics, including supplier capabilities, labour availability and cost structures.Provide strategic recommendations to the PGS leadership team based on in-depth knowledge of the Country’s economic, political, and cultural landscape.Team Leadership and Cross-functional CollaborationBe a strategic leader who can help design, operationalise, and lead a best-in-class sourcing office.Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.Be a brand ambassador for PGS and wider Pepco Group, living all company values and growing company culture in all regional sourcing offices.Travel to Europe and Asia regional offices to engage with wider Pepco teams.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management, procurement, or general management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of managing sourcing operations in Bangladesh with a deep understanding of local business practices and regulatory requirements.Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership and general management skills.Exceptional negotiation and relationship management capabilities.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering measurable results.Ability to lead multi-cultural teams within a sourcing environment.Enthusiasm to grow and nurture the existing culture and values at PGS.Willingness to travel internationally, including visits to other operational locations.High-level proficiency in cultural sensitivity, with the ability to navigate and adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
