Costume Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing, fitting, and organizing costumes for productions.
• Support costume construction, sewing, and alteration processes using sewing machines.
• Help maintain detailed inventory records of costumes and retail products
• Prepare costumes for fittings and performances by cleaning, steaming, or repairing garments as needed
• Proven experience or strong interest in fashion design, theatrical costume work, or related artistic fields
• Skilled in sewing techniques using sewing machines
• Experience working in theater or film productions is highly desirable
• Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with the public on the retail portion of the shop
• Tech savvy a plus
