The role \| Mō tēnei tūranga mahi:

As a Community Support Worker (CSW), you will work autonomously with tangata whai ora, supporting them to engage with and remain connected to their chosen community. You will help them work towards self-directed goals, regain independence, maintain wellbeing, and achieve their fullest potential and quality of life. The CSW role includes participating in support and needs assessments, goal setting, and risk management.

The role also involves working collaboratively with whānau/family and within a multi-disciplinary framework alongside Community Mental Health Centres. You will attend regular clinical review meetings with mental health clinicians and other professionals.

You will:

• Support tangata whai ora autonomously in their chosen community.
• Help tangata whai ora work towards self-directed goals, regain independence, maintain wellbeing, and achieve their fullest potential and quality of life.
• Work collaboratively with whānau/family, clinicians, and other professionals.

You \| Mōu:

We are looking for individuals who share our values and have a genuine commitment and passion for supporting people in their communities. You will also:

• Hold a clean, full NZ driver licence.
• Hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4, Mental Health and Addiction Support strand (or a recognised equivalent), or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of employment.
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
• Have strong technology skills, including experience using Microsoft Office products and working with databases.
• Be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Have a sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to demonstrate bicultural concepts in practice, or be willing to learn.
• Be a NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work visa.
• Speaking Te Reo Māori would be an advantage.
• Have an interest in Māori and Pasifika customs and cultural norms.
