Location – Parramatta and Sydney CBD - Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Employment type – Temporary Full Time with a possibility of extension

Salary – $87,199 - $95,482 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Commissioner Support Officer supports the effective operation of the Industrial Relations Commission by providing high-level administrative support to Commissioners. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, client focused environment, gain exposure to industrial relations matters, and contribute to fair and effective decision-making within a statutory tribunal

What you’ll do

As part of the Commissioner Support team, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to Commissioners and contribute to the efficient functioning of the Industrial Relations Commission.

You will:
Provide high-level administrative, clerical and secretarial support to Commissioners.

Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for country hearings.

Prepare, proofread, format and edit judgments, decisions and other legal or industrial relations documents.

Respond professionally to enquiries from legal representatives, employer groups, unions, government agencies and members of the public.

Coordinate procedural correspondence and assist parties with Commission processes and procedures.

Undertake research and analysis of industrial matters to support Commissioners in decision-making.

Liaise with parties to awards and enterprise agreements, gathering and organising information to identify key issues.

Maintain accurate records and utilise court, registry and business systems to support operations.

Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the efficient delivery of services.

Support colleagues with complex enquiries and share knowledge within the team.

What we’re looking for

Completed or undertaking legal qualifications highly regarded

Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative and clerical support in a complex, confidential, or legal/court environment

Strong client service and communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally to enquiries from diverse internal and external stakeholders

Ability to research, analyse and interpret information, apply policies and procedures, and manage competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail

Demonstrated initiative and sound judgement in day-to-day decision-making, with the ability to seek guidance on complex or unfamiliar matters
