The Operational Challenge

Onyx Construction Partners is expanding its infrastructure pipeline across the Dhofar Governorate. We need a sharp, commercially driven cost architect to take ownership of our project controls, contract variations, and quantity estimation matrix. Based out of our central project operations hub on Mirbat Road, you will be the absolute baseline for financial discipline on large-scale civil, infrastructure, and commercial builds. If you are a rigorous estimator who refuses to let budgets drift and knows how to protect contractor margins under pressure, this role delivers immediate operational ownership.

What We Expect From You

• Quantification \& Cost Profiling: Execute comprehensive material take-offs and structural cost estimation models from initial schematic designs through to final tender documents.
• Earned Value \& Progress Control: Establish, track, and police project baseline costs using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, identifying cost variances before they impact corporate profitability.
• Variation \& Claim Verification: Evaluate, document, and negotiate complex subcontractor variations, extension of time (EOT) claims, and material price adjustments.
• Procurement Analytics: Partner directly with supply chain teams to run strict cost-benefit analyses on vendor selections, bulk material orders, and logistics overheads along regional trade corridors.
• Cash Flow Projections: Build and run monthly capital expenditure forecasts and progress payment applications for major joint-venture stakeholders.

Core Credentials Required

• Years in the Field: Minimum 4–6 years of direct experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Project Controls Specialist specifically handling large-scale civil engineering, heavy infrastructure, or commercial construction assets.
• Software Toolset: Advanced proficiency with estimation software (Candy CCS, CostX, or PlanSwift) paired with strong analytical capabilities in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Industry Frameworks: Deep working knowledge of standard international conditions of contract, specifically FIDIC suites, and standard methods of measurement (POMI or NRM).
• Language Skills: Flawless technical and contractual English literacy is non-negotiable for drafting legal variation defenses and executive reporting. Functional Arabic vocabulary streamlines local subcontractor coordination.

The Workplace Dynamic

This isn't a passive, back-office administration job. You will split your time between our Mirbat Road commercial office and active project site environments across Salalah, working directly alongside Project Directors to defend the commercial viability of our builds.
