Job Overview

Yugen Technologies is seeking an experienced and technically strong Cloud Engineering Manager to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our cloud infrastructure and engineering operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud environment while leading a team of cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers. This role combines technical leadership, people management, cloud architecture, automation, and operational excellence.

The Cloud Engineering Manager will work closely with software engineering, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to establish modern cloud practices, improve system reliability, automate infrastructure and deployment processes, and support the organization's long-term technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure engineers.
  • Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture and infrastructure standards.
  • Manage cloud environments across platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Establish and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
  • Lead the implementation and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Establish effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
  • Develop strategies for cloud security, identity and access management, network security, and data protection.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud services.
  • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cloud infrastructure and control operational costs.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to improve application deployment and cloud-native practices.
  • Establish engineering standards, documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that support business objectives.
  • Communicate technical strategies, risks, project progress, and infrastructure requirements to senior management.

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, identity management, storage, compute, and databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other modern container orchestration technologies.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools.
  • Experience with Linux administration, scripting, and automation using technologies such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, access management, secrets management, and secure infrastructure practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production environments and resolving complex technical incidents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
  • Kubernetes certification such as CKA or CKAD.
  • Experience working with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Experience with GitOps, Helm, Argo CD, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong understanding of microservices and cloud-native application architectures.
