  • Permanent, Part Time, 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE)

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide high - quality pharmaceutical care to patients across Hawkes Bay Hospital, contributing to safe, effective and efficient use of medicines. You will participate in ward - based clinical pharmacy services, undertake medicines reconciliation, attend ward rounds, provide clinical advice to nursing and medical staff, and support medication counselling for patients and whānau.

You will also participate in dispensing and operational services, contribute to medication safety initiatives, monitor drug usage, support the implementation of the Hospital Medicines List (HML), and assist in audit, quality improvement and service development projects. This role includes opportunities for teaching, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to an on - call roster.

Our Hospital Pharmacy team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital includes clinical pharmacists, technicians, assistants and operational specialists working closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams. We are committed to delivering a safe, responsive and highperforming pharmacy service that supports excellent patient care across the hospital.

About you

Youre a motivated and clinically capable pharmacist with strong communication and teamwork skills. You will have:

  • A recognised Pharmacy qualification and registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
  • A current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics and medication safety.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clinical teams.
  • A positive, solution focused attitude and commitment to high quality patient care.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable health outcomes.

Desired:

  • Hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Postgraduate pharmacy qualifications.
  • Experience in mentoring, teaching or supporting junior pharmacists.
  • Familiarity with ePharmacy and hospital medicines systems.
