About the Role
Working within the National Public Health Service's Prevention team, in partnership with the Health Gain Development function within Planning, Funding and Outcomes, you will provide specialist clinical leadership and advice to support the implementation of the Lung Screening Mobile Pilot.
As Clinical Advisor (Radiology), you will contribute radiology expertise to the development of clinical and quality standards, guidelines, standard operating procedures, quality assurance processes, and monitoring frameworks that support safe, effective and equitable screening delivery. Working as part of the Clinical \& Quality workstream, you will help ensure clinical pathways, digital and data requirements, operational processes and participant management approaches are practical, clinically appropriate and aligned with radiology models of care, while collaborating with clinicians, operational teams and stakeholders to support successful pilot implementation and strong clinical governance.
About the Project
The Lung Screening Mobile Pilot is a nationally significant initiative that will help shape the future of lung cancer screening in Aotearoa New Zealand. Building on the learnings from The Lung Cancer Screening Research Programme. The pilot has been established to test and refine the feasibility, effectiveness, and equity of mobile screening delivery. Operating across the Hawke's Bay and Lakes districts, the programme will bring screening closer to communities, improve access to early detection, and support better health outcomes through the identification of lung cancers at an earlier, more treatable stage.

You will be a respected radiology clinician who brings strong clinical leadership, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to complex healthcare initiatives. With experience working within Health New Zealand and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, you will be passionate about improving health outcomes and equity through innovative service delivery. You will be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, translating technical information into practical solutions, and contributing to the successful implementation of a nationally significant screening programme.
