Civil Foreman –Fit-out & Landscaping

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to supervise and coordinate civil, architectural finishing, and landscaping activities on a mega construction project. The successful candidate will ensure that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and construction schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil, architectural finishing, hardscape, and landscaping activities at the project site.
• Organize and assign work to skilled workers, labourers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Supervise architectural finishing works, including:
• Blockwork and plastering
• Screeding and flooring
• Tiling and marble works
• Painting works
• Gypsum and ceiling works
• Waterproofing works
• Doors, joinery, and associated finishing activities
• Supervise landscaping and hardscape works, including interlock, paving, KerbStone, external flooring, planters, boundary works, irrigation coordination, and softscape preparation.
• Read and interpret civil, architectural, finishing, and landscaping drawings.
• Monitor workmanship and identify defects, incomplete works, and deviations from approved requirements.
• Ensure that defects and snagging items are rectified within the required timeframe.
• Coordinate daily activities with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, safety teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor work progress and ensure that daily and weekly targets are achieved.
• Ensure the availability and proper utilization of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Check delivered materials and ensure their suitability before use.
• Maintain records of daily manpower, completed activities, material usage, and site progress.
• Ensure workers comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment.
• Report delays, material shortages, technical issues, and site constraints to the responsible engineer.
• Assist with inspections, snagging, rectification, testing, and project handover activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized technical institute or college.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working as a Civil Foreman.
• Previous experience specifically in a Civil Foreman or General Foreman position is mandatory.
• Proven experience working on mega construction projects.
• Strong practical experience in architectural finishing works is mandatory.
• Good experience in civil, hardscape, and landscaping works.
• Strong understanding of finishing sequences, workmanship standards, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to read and understand civil, architectural, finishing, and landscaping drawings.
• Good knowledge of construction levels, dimensions, measurements, and site setting-out requirements.
• Experience supervising large teams of skilled and unskilled workers.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, subcontractors, and other site teams.
• Good understanding of quality control, snagging, and site safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and complete assigned works within project deadlines.
• Basic English communication skills are required.
• Previous Gulf or Qatar construction experience is preferred.
• Immediate availability and a transferable Qatar residence permit are preferred.
