We are looking for Chef to work in our restaurant for Otautau Hotel, and will be responsible for the below mentioned duties:
- Responsible for planning the menu, food cost estimating and ordering food supplies.
- Carry out meal preparation and food service in accordance with our internal standards.
- Monitor kitchen stock and complete daily, and weekly stock orders as required.
- Ensure that wastage is kept to a minimum and all of it is recorded.
- Ensure that the kitchen is left tidy, clean and organized at the end of service.
- Kitchen Maintenance- to ensure all appliances and equipment are in good, safe working condition.
- Handle all customer complaints and resolve issues appropriately.
- Modify the recipes to meet customer needs and requests.
- Responsible for upholding the standards of the New Zealand Food Safety Program.
- Discuss food preparation issues with management and suggest ways of improvement.
- Coordinate with the front desk, serving correct food items as per the customer’s order.
Work for minimum of 30 hours per week.
Other important requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience or relevant qualification is needed
- Interpersonal skills
- Available to work on weekends and on public holidays
- Should be available for shifts as per the requirement.
- Physically fit to stand for long hours
- Good coordination skills
- Team-worker
- Calm and composed individual
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour
