As New Zealand's largest telecommunications and digital services company, Spark's purpose is to help all of New Zealand win big in a digital world. We provide mobile, broadband, and digital services to millions of New Zealanders and thousands of New Zealand businesses.
We operate in an exciting and constantly evolving industry, where the pace of change brings new and unique challenges every day, so we operate using Agile ways of working to allow us to meet the fast-changing needs of our customers. Agile replaces the traditional hierarchical organisational structure to produce a transparent, collaborative environment with highly productive teams who are empowered to deliver better outcomes for our customers, communities, and all of New Zealand.
About the Role:
As Chapter Lead for Advanced Analytics, you’ll be responsible for shaping how Spark harnesses data, analytics, and AI to drive better decisions, faster.
The role includes a combination of people leadership for a team of Analytics Engineers, technical strategy, business stakeholder engagement, and hands-on delivery. We hire for impact, not effort – you'll be accountable for outcomes the business can measure.
You will help to define the future of analytics at Spark, including the establishment of a unified semantic layer, driving adoption of AI-enabled self-service analytics, and embedding a data-driven culture across the business.
Your chapter will look to you for technical direction, coaching, and advocacy; our business stakeholders will rely on you as a trusted partner and translator between data capability and commercial outcomes. You’ll lead by example in applying modern analytics engineering practices.
Day to day you will be involved in:
Leading, coaching, and developing a chapter of Analytics Engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive team culture
Setting and enforcing standards and best practices for the chapter
Driving the adoption of AI-enabled self-service analytics across the organisation
Owning and evolving the Advanced Analytics technical roadmap, with a near-term focus on establishing a unified semantic layer
Hands-on delivery of analytics solutions within an Agile squad
Leading by example in applying modern analytics engineering practices
Partnering with business leaders to identify and prioritise high impact opportunities to leverage data & analytics to drive commercial outcomes
What experience you'll bring?
