Job Description

The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre is excited to be recruiting for a Casual Research Assistant to work within the Physical Activity Clinical Champions Programme (PACC), where you will play a key role in helping deliver and evaluate this highly valued training programme. The role is for 12 weeks, full time (maximum 37 hours per week) between July and September.

The Role

The Physical Activity Clinical Champions organise and deliver clinician to clinician training on physical activity in clinical care to other NHS health care professionals, which will support to improve patient care and outcomes.

Working with the Lead Academic you will support the implementation of the programme’s evaluation framework including in depth evaluation of key innovation workstreams: – Place based working, educational approach and workforce development. You will gain an insight into the prevention agenda within the NHS and the University’s innovative work in Physical Activity and Healthcare.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Co-develop ethically approved data collection protocols with the Academic Lead.

Support data collection, analysis and management: Organise and store qualitative and quantitative data, analyse non-complex data and co-analyse complex data with the Academic Lead

Support documentation and reporting: Maintaining rigorous and detailed records of protocols, results and analysis and contribute to writing project reports and papers.

Applicants should have a higher degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area such as health education, health behaviour change or rehabilitation and physical activity/exercise prescription. Some previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential. You will be expected to have good knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods and techniques and their application.

You will be based at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre on the Olympic Legacy Park.
