Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpentry Assistant to support our construction and renovation projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction work, working alongside skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and basic knowledge of construction processes. This position is essential for assisting with project execution, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining quality craftsmanship across diverse job sites.

Duties

  • Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project planning and execution.
  • Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Aid in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, roofing, and other carpentry-related activities.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in restoration projects and woodworking tasks to refurbish or modify existing structures.
  • Assist with construction painting, caulking, assembly, plumbing, electrical work, and general handyman duties as needed.
  • Support the use of construction estimating tools for project planning and material procurement.
  • Perform heavy lifting and assist with material movement around job sites while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry principles, woodworking, and construction techniques.
  • Experience or familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, or construction drawings is preferred.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; experience with CNC machinery is a plus.
  • Knowledge of concrete forming, masonry, rebar installation, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, or electrical/plumbing experience is advantageous.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks regularly.
  • Prior handyman experience or general construction background is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions on different job sites.

This role provides valuable exposure to multiple facets of the construction industry while supporting ongoing projects through skilled assistance and reliable effort.

Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour
