Carpenter

Industry Maintenance Construction Pty Ltd are currently looking for x1 experienced and qualified carpenter to join our Team in Darwin and remote when required.

The successful candidate will need to undertake the following duties:

Site Preparation \& Planning:

• Review and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Evaluate and prepare the job site for framing and carpentry activities.
• Take precise measurements and establish accurate layout lines.

Framing (Rough Carpentry):

• Construct the structural framework, including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs.
• Install floor joists, subflooring, wall studs, and roof trusses according to specifications.
• Erect temporary supports, scaffolding, and bracing as required.
• Verify that all framing components are level, square, and plumb.

Exterior Installation:

• Install exterior sheathing, house wrap, siding, fascia, and soffits.
• Set and secure exterior doors and windows, ensuring proper insulation and weatherproofing.
• Construct exterior features such as porches, decks, and stairs.

Interior Carpentry (Finish Work)

• Install drywall backing, insulation supports, and blocking where needed.
• Build and install interior walls, door frames, and window casings.
• Fit and finish cabinets, closets, baseboards, crown molding, and trim.
• Install interior doors, staircases, and handrails with precision and attention to detail.

Specialized Woodwork

• Fabricate and install custom wood features such as shelving, mantels, and built-in furniture.
• Modify standard designs to accommodate on-site conditions or client specifications.

Final Touches \& Quality Control:

• Sand, fill, and prepare wood surfaces for painting or staining.
• Inspect all carpentry work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with building codes.
• Perform necessary adjustments or repairs prior to project completion.

Safety \& Coordination:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Keep the job site clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.

Maintenance:

• Keeping tools and equipment in good working order and maintaining a clean workspace.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Carpentry certificate required or higher qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Salary range is $80,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience.
