Position Overview

Dogwalk is seeking a qualified Canine Hydrotherapy Therapist to provide safe, effective, and individualized hydrotherapy sessions for dogs recovering from surgery, managing orthopedic or neurological conditions, improving mobility, or maintaining fitness.

The successful candidate will work closely with pet owners, veterinarians, and the Dogwalk team to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of rehabilitation care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrotherapy sessions using underwater treadmills and other rehabilitation equipment.
• Assess each patient's mobility, condition, and progress before and after every session.
• Develop and follow individualized rehabilitation programs based on veterinary recommendations.
• Monitor patients closely throughout treatment to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and progress notes.
• Communicate treatment progress and home-care recommendations to pet owners.
• Liaise with referring veterinarians regarding patient progress when required.
• Ensure all hydrotherapy equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and maintained after each session.
• Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety within the hydrotherapy department.
• Handle dogs safely using low-stress handling techniques.
• Identify any medical concerns during treatment and report them immediately to management or the referring veterinarian.
• Assist in promoting Dogwalk's rehabilitation services through exceptional client care and education.
• Follow all company health, safety, and animal welfare policies.

Ideal Candidate

• A recognized Canine Hydrotherapy certification is mandatory.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in canine hydrotherapy or animal rehabilitation is preferred.
• Experience working with postoperative, orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, and obese canine patients.
• Strong understanding of canine anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation principles.
• Excellent dog handling skills with all breeds and temperaments.
• Strong communication and client education skills.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Veterinary nursing or veterinary medicine experience is an advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills.
