Job Description

The Camp Boss is responsible for the overall management and supervision of camp operations at remote oil \& gas project sites. This role ensures the efficient delivery of catering, accommodation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance services while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, and staff welfare. The Camp Boss serves as the primary on-site coordinator, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for all camp residents and compliance with client and company requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Catering, Hotel Management, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in camp management or a similar supervisory role.
  • Experience in remote operations such as Oil \& Gas, Offshore, Construction, Mining, or Industrial Camps is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of catering operations, housekeeping, laundry, and camp administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with inventory and material management systems.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles.

Training

  • HACCP Certification (preferred).
  • HSE/Safety Training (company training provided if required).

Other Requirements

  • Good understanding of health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work in remote camp locations on rotational schedules.
  • Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities1. Camp Operations Management

  • Manage and supervise all daily camp operations, including catering, housekeeping, laundry, accommodation, and camp maintenance.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with company, client, and food safety standards.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, menu implementation, and dietary requirements.
  • Supervise kitchen hygiene, food storage, sanitation, and dining facilities.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, cleaning supplies, and consumables.
  • Prepare Material Requests (MR) and coordinate receipt and distribution of supplies.
  • Prepare and submit:
  • Daily food cost reports
  • Daily meal count reports
  • Daily man-day reports
  • Coordinate maintenance requests to ensure camp facilities remain operational and well maintained.

2. Staff Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of:
  • Cook
  • Assistant Cook
  • Kitchen Helpers
  • Waiters
  • Laundry Personnel
  • Housekeepers
  • Cleaners
  • Rig Boys
  • Prepare staff duty rosters, work schedules, and leave plans.
  • Conduct daily briefings and assign work responsibilities.
  • Train, coach, and mentor camp personnel to maintain service quality and operational standards.
  • Monitor staff performance and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct.

3. Health, Safety \& Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies and client requirements.
  • Enforce food hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen, accommodation, dining areas, and camp facilities.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
  • Report incidents, accidents, and safety observations promptly.

4. Inventory \& Cost Control

  • Monitor stock consumption and minimize food wastage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate procurement requirements with the Project Manager and procurement team.
  • Ensure proper storage and stock rotation using FIFO principles.
  • Monitor catering costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

5. Client Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives regarding camp services.
  • Address client concerns and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Collect feedback from camp residents regarding meals, accommodation, and camp facilities.
  • Implement improvements to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

6. Administration \& Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Maintain records of manpower, attendance, inventories, food costs, inspections, and maintenance requests.
  • Ensure all operational documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Support audits and client inspections by maintaining proper documentation and compliance records.

Pay: KD216.000 per month
