Business lead Italy

Location: Italy ( remote/ Home-based)

About the Role

The Business Lead Italy will play a critical role in establishing and growing the Italian affiliate and preparing for the launch of the company’s first ultra-orphan therapy planned for July 2027.

Reporting to the General Manager Italy, Germany \& Spain, you will lead cross-functional execution across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Operations, ensuring business priorities are translated into effective local action.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role with significant growth potential. As the Italian business expands, the scope of the position is expected to evolve into broader affiliate leadership responsibilities.

Field-Based Leadership (50%)

A key element of the role is maintaining a strong presence in the field. Approximately 50% of time will be spent engaging with treatment centers, healthcare organizations, key stakeholders, regional authorities, and patient organizations across Italy to gather insights, strengthen partnerships, and support launch readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Business \& Launch Leadership

• Lead and coordinate Italy's launch readiness and execution plans.
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, PV, and Supply Chain.
• Monitor business performance, milestones, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide recommendations and business insights to the General Manager.

External Stakeholder Engagement

• Build relationships with treatment centers, healthcare stakeholders, patient organizations, and regional decision makers.
• Gather market and healthcare system insights to inform strategy and execution.
• Represent the company at relevant industry and scientific events.

Commercial \& Market Access

• Support development and execution of commercial and reimbursement strategies.
• Monitor market dynamics, access developments, and performance indicators.
• Contribute to forecasting, business planning, and resource prioritization.

Leadership \& Collaboration

• Foster strong collaboration across local, regional, and global teams.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of the Italian organization.
• Lead through influence and help build a high-performing, patient-focused culture.

Compliance \& Governance

• Ensure activities are conducted in line with applicable regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory, and Pharmacovigilance teams to maintain strong governance and patient safety.

Your Profile

Qualifications

• Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or Business is preferred.

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience in rare diseases, specialty care, or orphan diseases preferred.
• Proven track record in product launches and commercialization.
• Strong understanding of the Italian healthcare system and market access environment.
• Experience working across Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and/or Operations.
• Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in international matrix organizations.
• People leadership experience is an advantage.
