Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly driven, commercially focused Business Development Manager to spearhead new business growth across Ireland. This is a high-impact, front-line role focused on winning new customers, opening new markets, and positioning a broad portfolio of logistics solutions.

This role will be fully remote, and some travel on an ad-hoc basis may be required to Head office in England.

The successful candidate will operate as a true “hunter,” responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across haulage, logistics, and import/export sectors. You will play a key role in expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and embedding long-term customer relationships. Key Responsibilities: New Business Development \& Market Expansion

· Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the Ireland market

· Develop, own, and execute a clear sales strategy to penetrate and grow the territory

· Define priority sectors, customers, and routes to maximise revenue opportunities

· Build and manage a structured target account plan aligned to growth objectives

· Generate leads through proactive outreach, networking, and market engagement

· Continuously adapt approach based on performance, market conditions, and competitor activity

· Take full ownership of territory performance, driving consistent new business growth

Solution Sales \& Commercial Delivery

· Sell a multi-service offering including:

- Freight ferry booking and ticketing solutions

- Customs clearance and compliance services

- Supporting freight forwarding and logistics services

· Understand customer supply chains and propose tailored, value-driven solutions

· Lead negotiations and close high-value commercial agreements

· Maximise revenue through cross-selling and upselling across all service lines

Customer Relationship Management

· Build strong, long-term relationships with new customers from initial engagement through to account growth

· Act as a trusted advisor on cross-border logistics and customs processes

· Ensure smooth onboarding in collaboration with internal operational teams

· Maintain regular engagement to drive retention and additional revenue opportunities

Sales Performance \& Reporting

· Manage and maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecasting data

· Consistently meet and exceed new business targets and KPIs

· Provide regular performance updates to senior management

· Track market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery

· Partner with internal stakeholders to support service improvements and commercial initiatives

· Contribute to broader sales strategy and market development plans

Requirements:

· Proven track record in a new business / business development role within logistics, freight, or customs services

· Demonstrated success in winning and growing new client accounts

· Strong understanding of cross-border logistics, ferry operations, or customs processes

· Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable operating autonomously

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

· Ability to sell multi-service solutions and manage complex sales cycles

· Experience using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines

Pay: €50,000.00-€55,000.00 per year
