We are now hiring a Business Development Manager to build on a strong period of growth across the business.

This is a high impact, target driven role for someone who is well versed in the world of freight forwarding and logistics and genuinely enjoys winning new business. The successful candidate will be comfortable picking up the phone to open new doors with new accounts, confident discussing trade terms and margins as part of commercial conversations and motivated by building a strong and consistent pipeline.

What will my day to day look like?

  • Owning and driving the new business development pipeline across all transport modes
  • Conducting daily prospecting calls and securing meetings with potential accounts
  • Procuring, calculating and submitting freight quotations and tenders efficiently, with proper follow-up
  • Developing strategies and tactics to hit turnover and gross margin targets
  • Identifying business opportunities in target markets and proposing corrective plans where needed
  • Managing a smooth handover of new business into operations using agreed best practice
  • Building close working relationships with Operations Management and company Directors
  • Reporting pipeline activity, call activity and KPIs to line manager
  • Supporting the build-out of the commercial team as the business grows, including input into hiring and training

What do I need?

  • Minimum 3 years' experience at BDM or Sales Manager level within freight forwarding/Logistics
  • A proven track record of growing business within logistics services
  • Strong knowledge of international trade terms and conditions
  • Excellent business development and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to manage a budget, write reports, and work calmly under pressure
  • A diploma-level qualification in business, sales, administration or marketing is preferred but not essential for the right experience

Pay: €50,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
