About the Role

The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in Finmo's go-to-market organisation. You will be responsible for driving outbound pipeline generation while helping establish the foundations, processes, and best practices that will support future team growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both execution and building. You will work closely with Sales Leadership, Account Executives, Partnerships, Marketing, and Product teams to identify opportunities, engage prospective customers, and continuously improve how Finmo generates pipeline across global markets.

While the role remains highly hands-on and focused on prospecting and pipeline generation, you will also have the opportunity to shape business development playbooks, outreach frameworks, tooling, qualification methodologies, and onboarding materials as the function evolves.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and wants to play a meaningful role in scaling a high-growth fintech business.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Generation \& Prospecting

  • Identify and research target accounts that align with Finmo's Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) across key markets and industries.
  • Execute outbound prospecting through cold calling, personalised email campaigns, Eurostaffs outreach, referrals, events, and other channels.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities for the sales team.
  • Engage decision-makers across Finance, Treasury, Operations, Payments, and related functions.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer pain points, business priorities, and qualification criteria.
  • Consistently achieve pipeline generation, meeting booking, and activity targets.

Business Development Strategy, Process \& Playbook Development

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to refine prospecting strategies, messaging, and outreach approaches.
  • Take ownership of developing and refining outbound prospecting playbooks, qualification frameworks, and engagement strategies to support scalable pipeline generation.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business development playbooks, call guides, email sequences, and qualification methodologies.
  • Share insights from customer conversations to improve positioning, messaging, and market engagement.
  • Help establish scalable prospecting processes, operating cadences, and best practices that can support future team expansion.

CRM, Reporting \& Tooling

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within HubSpot CRM.
  • Track prospecting activities, pipeline progression, conversion metrics, and overall campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide recommendations to improve sales efficiency, prospect engagement, and pipeline quality.
  • Support the adoption, optimisation, and effective use of CRM, sales engagement, and prospecting platforms.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation and sales productivity improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Account Executives, Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Leadership teams to improve pipeline generation outcomes.
  • Provide market feedback, customer insights, and competitive intelligence gathered through prospect interactions.
  • Collaborate on initiatives that improve lead quality, conversion rates, and overall go-to-market effectiveness.
  • Act as a key voice of the customer by sharing prospect feedback and market observations with internal stakeholders.

Future Team Growth

  • Assist in documenting business development processes, playbooks, and onboarding materials.
  • Share best practices and support the onboarding of future business development team members.
  • As the function scales, there may be opportunities to take on broader leadership responsibilities and help shape the future direction of the business development organisation.

Requirements

Experience

  • 4–7 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, Pipeline Generation, Revenue Growth, or related commercial roles.
  • Proven track record of generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting activities.
  • Experience engaging senior decision-makers and stakeholders within B2B organisations.
  • Experience within fintech, payments, treasury, banking, SaaS, cybersecurity, enterprise software, or other B2B technology environments is preferred.
  • Experience in startup, scale-up, or high-growth environments is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and thrive in environments where processes are still being developed.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with sales engagement tools such as Eurostaffs Sales Navigator or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong understanding of outbound prospecting methodologies, account-based prospecting, and qualification frameworks.
  • Experience analysing prospecting metrics and using data to improve performance and conversion rates.
  • Comfortable leveraging technology and automation tools to improve sales effectiveness and productivity.
