As a Business and Data Analyst, you will analyze quantitative and qualitative data to provide insight, recommendations and solutions to support ongoing strategic and operational decisions in Calgary Transit. You will synthesize information and communicate trends to support projects related to transit strategy, continuous improvement, risk management and business planning. Primary duties include:* Research, collect, and analyze transit data by engaging with internal and external teams to Calgary Transit, other transit agencies, and associations. * Provide in-depth analysis and recommendations by conducting jurisdictional scans, data modelling, analysis, forecasts, and industry best practices to support data-driven decision making. * Develop documentation to communicate findings and recommendations, such as reports, memos, and presentations. * Analyze customer feedback, public engagement and/or front-line employee insights to extract themes that inform strategy development. * Support the organization, facilitation, and tracking of workshops and meetings. * Collaborate with teams across Calgary Transit and outside of the business unit to build relationships, gather and share information.

Qualifications* A degree in Business, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, Economics, Engineering, Applied Science or a related field. * At least 5 years of experience related to research, data analysis, strategy, risk management, business planning, or continuous improvement * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required. * Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate) are considered an asset.

Workstyle* This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Position and Pay Information

  • Business Unit: Calgary Transit
  • Union: CUPE Local 38
  • Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 22 months)
  • Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $44.01 - 58.82 per hour
  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
  • Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
